Why did I pick the name "In This Moment Counselling"?

I wanted to choose a name that highlights the heart of my approach to counselling. Often, our struggle with poor mental health is tied to our previous experiences. These experiences provide important context for how we act in the present, but we can often spend too much time looking backwards instead of focussing on how these influences affect us now. The past is fixed, we can't change it, but we can learn from it. Following a more person-centred approach, with inspiration from existential therapy, I want to offer a space where we can explore how things are in the present - Examining how you interact with the world and everyone in it; and offering the necessary conditions to empower growth and change. Giving you a space to start improving things In This Moment.

My Approach

I offer a person-centred approach to counselling, providing a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Rather than setting an agenda, I follow your lead—offering open questions, reflections, and observations to help deepen your self-understanding.

I also draw from existential psychotherapy, focusing on the power of the present moment. I may invite you to explore how you feel during our sessions—what it’s like to discuss certain concerns, how our work together feels for you, and how these experiences might reflect patterns in your daily life. This can bring valuable insights and help create meaningful change.

What Can I Offer?

I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, supporting clients through a range of challenges, including trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and grief.

If my approach resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you. I offer a free 30-minute consultation to explore your hopes for counselling and see if we’re a good fit. From there, I provide 50-minute sessions online via Google Meet or phone call.

While I currently work online, I hope to offer in-person sessions in the future. Let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in!

Where do I work?

I am a Glasgow-based counsellor, however, as I primarily offer online sessions, I can offer sessions to anyone living within the UK. Whether you're in Glasgow or anywhere else, I’m here to support you wherever you are.

Scheduling

Due to other work commitments, my availability changes from week to week. To ensure as much consistency as possible, I offer a personalised schedule of sessions so that you always know when your next session will be, and all our time in-session can focus on what's really important: our work together.
